Snow showers in central Iowa on Thursday

Another cold draft for Iowa

BEING WEATHER AWARENESS IN WEATHER LIKE THIS. YES AND I THINK WE WILL STAY THE WEATHER AWAY HERE WHILE GOING INTO THE AFTERNOON. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS ON THE ROADS THIS MORNING BUT WE MIGHT SEE A FEW MORE SHOWERS, YOU KNOW SQUALLS ARE DEVELOPING THIS AFTERNOON AND THAT COULD CREATE SOME BAD CONDITIONS ON THE ROADS. NOT MUCH HAPPENING ON THE RADAR IMAGE AT THE MOMENT. WE HAVE A FEW BAGS OF SNOW, A TAPE OF SHOWER WHICH IS MOVING IN THE PORTIONS OF MARSHALL COUNTY, SOUTH PORTIONS OF HARDIN AND HAMILTON COUNTY JUST OUT OF STORY COUNTY ALSO SEE A LITTLE SNOW IF YOU ARE IN ZIMRING DOWN THROUGH COLO. ALONG HIGHWAY 30 WHILE HEADING EAST INTO PORTIONS OF JASPER COUNTY AND MARSHALL COUNTY AND ALSO REACHING SOME OF THIS SNOW STATE CENTER. SO EACH OF THESE SHOWER COULD DEVELOP THE BLUES INDICATING A HEAVY SNOWFALL AT THE TIME. BUT I THINK THE MOST FOCUS IS NORTH AND EAST OF THE METRO AREA. BUT WE WILL BE WATCHING THE RADAR CLOSELY HERE WHILE WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON AND ESPECIALLY AS WE WERE CLOSER TOWARDS THE EVENING RIDE. TEMPERATURES WARMER THAN YESTERDAY, LOW THIRTY. WE ARE NOW ABOVE FREEZE IN DES MOINES. BUT LOOK AT THE WINDCHILL. 20 HOW IT FEELS HERE IN DES MOINES. 19 AND ANKENY AND AMES. TOP TEENS, THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS. OUT TOWARDS BEN PERRY AS WELL AS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN AND THE WINDS WON’T HELP THIS MORNING IF YOU WALK OUTSIDE AND OVER THE DOG WAS NOT A BAD START TO THE DAY DIDN’T FELT THAT WINDY BUT NOW THE WINDS ARE GOING AT ABOUT 25 MPH STOP HERE ACROSS THE SUBWAY AREA AND WE HAVE SEEN GUSTS OF UP TO 35, EVEN GUSTS OF UP TO 40 MPH TOWARDS SPENCER. SO THINGS LOOKING LIQUID THIS AFTERNOON THANKS TO A COLD FRONT COMING THROUGH TODAY. WEDNESDAY, THIS EVENING AND NIGHT HOURS INCREASED AND TEMPERATURES FALL INTO THE TEENS HERE WHILE WE GO EARLY IN THE DAY TOMORROW. SO, SOME SHOWERS STILL POSSIBLE HERE AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. OTHERWISE THE BITTER SHALL PUSH IN TONIGHT AND TOMORROW AND UNFORTUNATELY THE WINDS WILL BEAR I THINK AS WE GO TONIGHT, TOMORROW AND INTO SATURDAY. SO WIND PULSE TODAY LATER AT ABOUT 20 TO 25 MPH TOMORROW, TOMORROW DOES NOT START BAD, JUST A NORMAL KIND OF BREEZ DAY FOR US. BUT THEN AS WE GO INTO SATURDAY I BELIEVE THE WIND GUSTS WILL GET A LITTLE HIGHER AND STILL FEEL AT ABOUT 30 MPH. THEY ARE. AS WE GO INTO THE FIRST PART OF THE WEEKEND, WIND CHILL. THE OTHER FACTOR HERE, WITH THE STRONG WINDS, WE’LL DECLINE LIKE SINGLE DIGITS TOMORROW TOMORROW. THIS DOES NOT CHANGE FOR A HUGE TIME OF THE DAY TOMORROW. SUCH A COLD DAY TO END THE WORK WEEK. HOUR AFTER THE HOUR THE FORECAST KEEPS SOME OF THESE SHOWERS IN THE FORECAST HERE TONIGHT OR I SHOULD SAY SAY THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS IS AROUND 2PM. NOTE THE FOCUS THAT MOST OF THEM DEVELOP LONGER AND EAST OF I-35 AND THEN THEY WILL EXPLAIN PRETTY QUICKLY. WE’RE DRYING OUT BUT THE CLOUDS STAY TODAY NIGHT AND THEN I THINK WE’LL GET IN WITH SOME MORE SUNSHINE TOMORROW TOMORROW. SO WE END IN THE LOW 30’S TODAY, right around freezing or something. BUT TONIGHT, LOW TEENS ACROSS THE STATE, 12 IN DES MOINES TONIGHT. AND THEN TOMORROW’S FORECAST. WE WILL STAY IN THE TEEN TOMORROW IF NOT UNDER 20 ON ONE OF THE DAYS YOU NEED ALL THE SHIFT IF YOU WILL BE OUTSIDE AS THE KIDS GO TO SCHOOL FRIDAY UNDER 20 IT WILL BE A FEW DEGREES WARMER SATURDAY , BUT IT IS STILL WINDY FOR THE FIRST PART OF THE WEEKEND. THEN FINALLY
