Dorothy A. (Dorman) Marsh, 98, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on May 8, 1924 in Cedar Rapids to Herbert Sr. and Lillian (Hansen) Dorman. She married the love of her life, Robert Marsh, on April 22, 1945 in San Francisco, California at the Naval Center; Their love and partnership was celebrated together for 72 years.

Dorothy retired from the CRST. As a teenager, she was an avid roller skater. She met Bob at the roller rink. She enjoyed her early years as PTA President of Taylor Elementary and Wilson Junior High School. She spent many hours sewing for her daughters as she was an excellent seamstress. She volunteered by cooking and entertaining the Wednesday night youth group at Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a life member. She enjoyed the swimming and card groups in the neighborhood very much. Traveling was one of her biggest thrills. Her travels have included Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico, among many other destinations. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed her World Series win.

Dorothy devoted herself entirely to her family. Those who cherish their memories are: Beverly (Elwood) Moser of Marion, Iowa, Susan (Todd) McCaughey of Davenport, Iowa, and Kathryn Marsh of Cedar Rapids; Grandsons, Amber (Russ) Wasendorf Jr., Rion (Shari) Schwarz, Sara (Tim) Holt, Avery (Chad) Norte, Rebecca (Ken) Caldwell, Robert Doucette, Dayna (Cory) Grantham, Sonya Hepker (Will) and Aaron hepker; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Roman, Erik, Jagger, Audrey, Ellesyn, Rhianna, Brookelyn, Logan, MacKenzie, Emma and Cole; Sister Shirley Hooker; and brother, Harold (Joyce) Dorman

Her parents preceded her in death; her 72-year-old husband Robert; sisters, Clara Henry and Phyllis Rowe; Brothers, Herbert Dorman Jr. and Soren “Eddie” Dorman; and great-grandson Zac Wasendorf.

Just as Dorothy and Bob were inseparable in life, so will they be in death. Their ashes will be reunited at a later date and interred at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery so they can be “together forever.”
