There is already a fair amount of noise and hype surrounding the No. 2 men’s wrestling team the Iowa Hawkeyes and their upcoming duel this Friday night when they head to University Park to take on the undefeated and highly ranked Penn State Nittany Lions.
In an exchange of some light-hearted jabs traded back and forth, the dual potentially gets a massive participant in former Nittany Lion and current Dallas Cowboys All-Pro Micah Parsons.

Parsons is eager to come back to watch the duel, and Iowa’s Spencer Lee does his best to offer some help as long as Parsons is willing to come to the other side and support the Hawkeyes.

While the two seem to be enjoying the jabs ahead of Friday, it doesn’t seem likely that Lee’s best efforts will get Parsons to side with the Hawkeyes for that one.
Iowa picked up two double wins over No. 11 Nebraska (34-6) and No. 13 Wisconsin (19-18) this past weekend.
“It was criteria, good for them. We had 5-5 (scores) in doubles – Penn, Iowa State, Wisconsin and Illinois. We’ve got a heavyweight with ice water running through his veins.
“I know when we’re ready to start and get points, things will go our way. When we win difficult positions, things go our way. If we hang, if it’s lethargic or lazy, then we’re in trouble. It’s a metaphor for life,” said Tom Brands, Iowa head wrestling coach, after the Hawkeyes’ third criterion win in Wisconsin.
Top-ranked Lee recorded his 48th straight win when he defeated Badgers’ No. Eric Barnett in 4:38 with his sixth straight fall.
As a result, Lee was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week for the second time that season and sixth time in his career.
Iowa battles Penn State this Friday, January 27 at 7:30pm CT from University Park, Pennsylvania and can be viewed on the Big Ten Network.
